INFORMATION ON COOKIES

Due to the coming into force of the amendment to the Law on Information Society Services (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, the express consent of all Users of websites that use non-essential cookies must be obtained before the User browses them.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to offer correct operation of the website. Using these devices allows the web server to remember some data about the User, such as their viewing preferences for pages of that server, name and password, products they are most interested in, etc.

COOKIES AFFECTED BY REGULATIONS AND EXEMPT COOKIES

According to the EU directive, the cookies requiring the User’s informed consent are analytical cookies, advertising cookies and affiliation cookies. Technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the User are exempt.

TYPES OF COOKIES
ACCORDING TO PURPOSE

Technical and functional cookies: allow Users to browse a website, platform or application and use the different options or services available on it.
Analytical cookies: allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of Users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of the website, application or platform, and to produce browsing profiles of the Users of these sites, applications and platforms, in order to introduce improvements based on analysis of the data on how Users use the service.
Advertising cookies: allow the most effective management of the advertising spaces that the publisher has included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency at which advertisements are shown (where applicable).
Behavioural advertising cookies: collect information on the User’s preferences and personal choices (retargeting) to allow the most effective management of the advertising spaces that the publisher has included on a website, application or platform on which the requested service is provided (where applicable).
Social cookies: established by social media platforms on the services to allow Users to share content with their friends and on their networks. Social media platforms are able to track online activity outside the Services. This may affect the content and messages Users see on other services they visit.
Secure cookies: store encrypted information to prevent the data they store from being vulnerable to malicious attacks by third parties.

ACCORDING TO OWNERSHIP

Own cookies: these are sent to the User’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher themselves, and from which the service requested by the User is provided.
Third-party cookies: these are sent to the User’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained by the cookies.
